FAQs

Answers to common questions about your stay.

Booking & Arrival

Can I book direct?

Yes — and it’s the best way to book as you are guaranteed best rate (no commissions). Use the Book Now buttons on our site for live rates and availability.

What are check-in / check-out times — and can I arrive late?

Your check-in and check-out times are shown in your booking confirmation. Late arrivals are absolutely fine — just let us know your estimated arrival time for a smooth check-in.

Can I store luggage before check-in / after check-out?

If we can, we will. Message us in advance with your timings and we’ll confirm what’s possible.

Parking & Getting Here

Do you have parking — and is it free?

Yes. We have limited private on-site parking, and it’s free for guests — but spaces need reserving. Please contact us in advance and we’ll confirm availability.

Getting here (car, train, bus — including from London)

Address: Lakeside Oxford Hotel, 118 Abingdon Road, Oxford OX1 4PZ.

By Car
Pop OX1 4PZ into your sat-nav. We have limited private parking, so if you’d like a space, please contact us in advance to reserve it.

By Bus
We’re on Abingdon Road, served by regular city buses. The closest stops are on/near Abingdon Road (a short walk from the hotel). If you tell us where you’re coming from (Oxford Station / city centre), we’ll point you to the simplest route for that time of day.

By Train
The nearest main station is Oxford Station. From there, the easiest option with luggage is a short taxi ride. If you prefer public transport, buses run from the station into the city and onward to Abingdon Road.

From London
Most guests come by train to Oxford (services commonly run from London Paddington or London Marylebone, depending on time/day). If you’re travelling by coach, the Oxford Tube has services running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week between London and Oxford (departures throughout the day and night).

Accessibility

Accessibility information

As a heritage house, we have a few access limitations. Unfortunately, we don’t have step-free access throughout, there’s no lift, and some rooms are upstairs. If you have any mobility requirements, please get in touch before booking — we’ll help you choose the most suitable room.

Room & What’s Included

What’s included in every room?

High-speed Wi-Fi, a Smart TV with streaming, bespoke toiletries, plus the essentials done properly (fresh linen, towels, tea & coffee, hairdryer).

Do you have kitchenette rooms / rooms for longer stays?

Yes — we have selected rooms with a kitchenette (ideal for longer stays). These are clearly marked on the Rooms page.

Which room should I book?

If you’re unsure, message us with your dates and what matters most (quiet, extra space, kitchenette, park view) and we’ll recommend the best fit.

House Rules & Contact

Keeping it lovely for everyone

We’re pet-free and non-smoking, and we’re all about a good night’s sleep — so we keep things quiet in the evenings. Being an old house, it has plenty of charm (and the occasional creak).
